I am grateful to be a part of a community of people dedicated to making a difference for our students and teachers. It is an honor to chair the Foundation and to have the opportunity to partner with the community to expand the Foundation’s impact on education in the HEB ISD. HEB ISD is Different by Design, and I am honored to be a part of a community dedicated to transforming lives through education.

 

For over 20 years I have been involved in the HEB ISD Education Foundation because to me HEB ISD epitomizes what public school education really should be: an educational environment that takes students from all walks of life and all levels of education and works together with them to ensure they become the best they can be. In our district there are over 68 different languages spoken and we serve over 900 homeless students with HEB ISD maintaining a 99.5% graduation rate with 23,200 students. HEB ISD was the first school district in Tarrant County to offer an International Baccalaureate program, an internationally recognized program that offers college-level courses and examinations through a high-quality and challenging curriculum that encourages critical thinking and an international perspective.

 

Providing 28 years of partnering with the HEB ISD to provide excellence in education, the Foundation has awarded $1.7 million in grants to innovative education across HEB ISD campuses and classrooms. Thank you for joining me and helping the Foundation impact education in the HEB ISD.
