Dear Friends of the Foundation,

It is an honor to serve as Chairman of the HEB ISD Education Foundation.

But rather than begin by telling you about the Foundation, I’d like you to imagine walking into one of our schools.

​

You might see a student proudly standing in a JROTC uniform made possible through a Foundation grant. You might find students from different campuses gathered around chessboards, discovering competition, friendship and a place to belong. Or you might hear sixth graders performing together as the Bedford Beats, a program the Foundation has helped sustain as new groups of students come through Bedford Heights.

Those are very different experiences, but they have something important in common:

Someone in our community decided those students were worth investing in.

​

That’s what the HEB ISD Education Foundation does.

​

And for me, this mission is personal.

​

Years ago, my family walked through an incredibly difficult season with one of our daughters. There were times when my wife and I were frightened and uncertain about what the future would hold.

​

During that time, HEB ISD stood beside our family. We experienced educators and staff who worked with us without judgment and with extraordinary compassion and care.

​

Our daughter came through that difficult chapter, and today she is thriving. Many people helped our family along the way, and I will never forget that our school district was one of them.

​

That experience changed the way I see public education—and it’s a big part of why I serve.

​

Since 1995, this Foundation has brought together individuals, families, businesses and community partners who believe in creating extraordinary opportunities for HEB ISD students and educators. Together, more than $2 million in grants have been awarded.

​

But the real measure of that investment isn’t a dollar amount.

It’s the student who discovers confidence. The student who finds a place to belong. The teacher with a great idea who is given the opportunity to make it real.

​

The Foundation helps make more possible.

​

If you’ve supported us before, thank you. Somewhere in HEB ISD, a student’s experience is different because you chose to give.

​

And if you’re discovering us for the first time, I invite you to become part of what we’re building.

​

Because when you support the HEB ISD Education Foundation, you don’t simply give to a program. You become part of a student’s story.

​
