Message from the Chairman

The HEB ISD Education Foundation plays a vital role in supporting the students, teachers, staff, and administrators of HEB ISD. It is a great honor to serve as Chairman of the Foundation alongside a wonderful and dedicated Board of Directors.

This past year was a very significant year for the Foundation.  Outstanding work from the Communications Committee helped us celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Foundation and created our new logo and branding.  The incredible and methodical efforts of the Strategic Plan Task Force resulted in updates and changes being made to our Strategic Plan that reflects the continued evolution of the Foundation.  Then, there was all the pivoting we had to do and the changes to several programs that were made related to COVID.  My hope is that we can return to some kind of new normal, stay with in person meetings, get back on campus, and continue to support HEB ISD through the many programs we have developed over our twenty-five-year history.

The Foundation will kick off the year by welcoming hundreds of new employees to the district and providing them lunch at the New Professionals Luncheon. This is a terrific opportunity to introduce ourselves to the new faces of the district and let them know we are here to help and support them throughout the year. We will continue our commitment of awarding monetary grants to individual classrooms through our Empowered to Excel Grant Program. Last year we were able to award $76,626 to worthy grant applicants at the elementary, middle, and high school level. In the spring, we will again hold our Awards of Excellence dinner and ceremony to honor 33 graduating seniors from L.D. Bell, Trinity, KEYS, and the Buinger CTE Academy who have distinguished themselves in 14 fields of study. This is a very special evening where we get to celebrate not only these students, but also individual teacher mentors chosen by each student to share in the celebration.

The HEB ISD Education Foundation was created because of the belief that strong schools build strong communities. The HEB community has continuously shown its commitment to our schools through its support of the Foundation. Your support enables us to put on these programs and provide additional resources and opportunities to the students and teachers of this district. If you are already a supporter of the Foundation, we thank you for your investment in this community. If you have not previously been a supporter, but value this district and the positive impact public education has on this community, please consider partnering with us to support excellence in education.
